A rare opportunity to own two out-of-print hardcovers in pristine condition, signed by both authors.
Some years ago, our publisher decided to issue these books in paperback only. We bought one of the last few cases of the hardcovers and are keeping a few for ourselves. The rest are for sale.
Before shipping, we will sign our names on the title page, wrap carefully, and ship insured with tracking to your U.S. address.
The Collection Includes:
Book 1: Signing Their Lives Away The Fame and Misfortune of the Men Who Signed the Declaration of Independence (Quirk Books, 2009 — 1st Edition, 13th Printing)
Introduces readers to the eclectic group of statesmen, soldiers, slaveholders, and scoundrels who signed this historic document—and the many strange fates that awaited them. Some prospered and rose to the highest levels of U.S. government, while others had their homes seized by British soldiers. Signer George Wythe was poisoned by his nephew; Button Gwinnett was killed in a duel; Robert Morris went to prison; Thomas Lynch was lost at sea; and of course Samuel Adams achieved fame as a patriot/brewer.
Book 2: Signing Their Rights Away The Fame and Misfortune of the Men Who Signed the U.S. Constitution (Quirk Books, 2011 — 1st Edition, 2nd Printing)
Chronicles a moment in American history when our elected officials knew how to compromise—and put aside personal gain for the greater good of the nation. These men were just as quirky and flawed as the elected officials we have today: Hugh Williamson believed in aliens, Robert Morris went to prison, Jonathan Dayton stole $18,000 from Congress, and Thomas Mifflin was ruined by alcohol. Yet somehow these imperfect men managed to craft the world's most perfect Constitution.
